Writing a short description of one’s self has been an exercise in introspection, self-evaluation and ultimately self-acceptance. With that in mind here goes..... I’m a nearly 70 year man whose life experience shapes my values and world view. I don’t define myself by what I’ve done and those who want to assign a label can choose from the following: Amateur actor, bartender, conscientious objector, disc jockey, farmhand, group facilitator, head waiter, impresario, janitor, Lamaze coach, Maitre d’ and master of ceremonies. I’ve been a office clerk, production coordinator, radio host and restaurant owner, stagehand and stage manager, ticket taker, usher, veteran and a wedding officiant. I see myself as altruistic, community-minded, civil and compassionate and hopefully I’m diplomatic. I know I’m empathic and like to think I’m easy-going. I believe I’m genuine and just so you know I hate liver. I’m intelligent, joyful, kind and can be quite lazy at times. I can be mercurial and from time to time I’ve been described as nice. I’m a committed optimist and most often I'm unfailingly polite. I can quote (or at least paraphrase) Tom Robbins, Kurt Vonnegut and Mark Twain. I hope I’m respectful and know I’m self-effacing and I try my darnedest to treat others as I wish to be treated. I take great pride in my unique life and make no claim of knowing any universal truths. I value diversity and write essays. I yearn for cooperation and connection and just so you’ll know I approach most days with a combination of zest and zeal.

My Ideal Person While I harbor no fantasies about finding the love of my life on this site I am open to the idea. The one I seek is a woman of style, grace and panache. In short, someone who loves life as I do.
