 What a delight. After 2 years of cancelled seasons, the Vancouver Opera staged Orfeo ed Euridice. I felt a strong sense of relief and expectation as the orchestra tuned.

My expectation was to be fully plunged into the depths of tragedy including the inevitable death of the fair maiden.

That expectation didn't happen. Instead, there were 2 fair maidens and neither died. Simultaneously honest and false.

A particular enjoyment was the amount of dancing and a fantastic set design.

I'm so looking forward to the next show of the season in February.
