Went to my appointment last evening....you got to love it, show up early as they request you to do and you still sit around cooling your heels. The nurse checked my weight, what my temp. was, did the B.P. Cuff thing..then more waiting for the Doctor. Asking me questions when she finally graced me with her presence, getting slightly annoyed because I couldn't hear what she was saying...yeah I've had major surgery on both ears, I don't hear well in most situations let alone hear someone speaking who is wearing a mask and has a face shield on...go figure.

Then she suggested she could schedule an appointment for me with an E.N.T. doc. to get fitted for hearing aides. Yeah, had to explain to her yet again that they would do little good. I've been down that road with two E.N.T. Doctor's already. Aside from the cost of the devices, which is considerable. There is the reason I've had those operations. I won't go into what that is ( as I had to with my Doc. ) , suffice to say that because of a defect I have in both ears fluid fills up behind the ear drum and causes my hearing loss. Even if I did get the hearing aides the problem would still exist because of the fluid build up. Getting tubes inserted would help more, but because of the surgeries, too much scar tissue has built up in to have one inserted in my left ear, and the right one now being made of plastic..well when they cut an ear off to remove the old damaged ear drum and replace it with a new plastic one, that there's not much room left in that one either.

Any who, aside from the ears, I'm doing okay. The muscle cramp I had before Easter in my stomach was just that, a muscle cramp. It happens. The aches and pains from my arthritis is what it is. I should continue taking my medications...and she'll see me in six months...

Time to jump in the shower now...

I know my grandson has wax buildup in one of his ears and I think when he gets older he will have to go see a doctor to get it cleaned out. I can't remember what they call it but my cousin has it in both of her ears and every so often has to go take care of it. I hope this get better for you.

The Light is shinning and she is lonely and waiting in the darkness.

Have you ever tried drying the fluid up using antihistamines? They tend to dry up everything in us, LOL.
I'm sorry the doc wasn't more help. xoxox

Yes dear lady I have tried it. I've been down so many roads with this that most times I can play tour guide to the doctors. Funny fact, when I'm in for a check up or some procedure on the ears, I'll have a host of medicos all itching to see the "plastic" ear drum. Not a common site for many. As all three Hospitals and the E.N.T. clinic in my area are "teaching" hospitals where new Docs go to get their schooling It's not uncommon for me to have at least five undergrads stepping up to take a look see. I used to be flattered by all the attention...now it sort of gets on my nerves. None of course can offer any real solution to my issue, least none that I haven't tried before. The only thing that ever helped was having tubes put in , and of course as I said in the blog, that can no longer take place. Have a good one!
