 So, I'm in the middle of cleaning a one bedroom unit. I just got the kitchen cabinets done, and I was working on cleaning the fridge when the boss calls me. Can I drop what I'm doing and go to another unit to get started in there? The PM has scheduled a prospective tenant tour in the next half hour and he wants me to go over there and clean up as much as I can because the place smells like Ass. Okay.... not really a problem. Just have to finish wiping down the fridge and I'll go over to that unit. He's hoping the smell from the cleaning chemicals that I use will over power the existing stench left by the vacating tenants. Yeah, no. The smell wasn't because the place was a dirty pig sty, Oh sure it wasn't that clean mind you. But the smell in fact was coming from the carpets. Yep, you guessed it...the vacating tenants had pets. Cats I assume judging from the stuffed toy mice and screw on soda bottle tops that kitty's like to play with batted under the stove that I found when I moved it to sweep the kitchen floor. A bit after I started, the boss came in armed with those plug in air fresheners, he got from the PM and put one in every room. Yeah, no. Not going to cut it. Those things don't help. Now the place smells like wet cat and air freshener. Then he sent the painter in to start his work, hoping the smell of the paint will help mask the odor. Are you following along? The place now smells like wet cat, cleaning chemicals, air fresheners, and new paint. The combined smells were enough to make me retch. Long story short, aside from the windows and floors, I got the pace clean, took me awhile. So much time that I almost went over my quitting time . I was late going over to clean the Gym and laundry room at the end of my day because I spent so much time in that unit. Lucky the laundry and Gym were pretty clean yesterday. Not many people in to use the place. Oh, and the prospective tenants? Yeah they never showed up. I'll finish off the rest of my work in there today and then go back to the one bedroom unit I'd already started and finish that up as well. I'm pretty sure the carpets are a total loss.

So, how was your day? I'm off to shower now....
