where does the secret_lade go when she's out of town?

She goes to Bay City!

I decided to turn my journey downstate into a mini adventure and spend the night in Bay City so I could see the sights today.

It was amazing.

I'd never been to Bay City before, I played the part of tourist well!

There is no driving faux pas I DID NOT make!

God bless the soul of the woman who alerted to the fact that I was trying to turn the wrong way down a one way street.....

What the hell is this 'one way street' shit all about, anyway?!?

Egads....

I have to say, there is something about that town that speaks to me... They've definitely got a sense of humor down there.

Who couldn't love the pictorial images meant to keep us safe! Something tells me though, if the sidewalk is icy, you won't be able to see the warning...

I was walking along of Riverwalk Pier when I happened across this lovely dedication along the way. It made me smile and wonder just what she was like in real life... I think I would have liked her, I would want to fish with her and feel loss knowing that I cannot.

The most surprising moment of my was when I happened across one of my former coworkers while I was and about shopping during the . The phrase 'small world' is never lost on ... Who else can find themselves an hour and a half from home and run into people they know?

Truth be told, it did kind of feel good to see someone I knew.

Alas, I am home once again and my adventure has come to a close. I would definitely like to revisit that Riverwalk Pier during the summer, I think it would be beautiful.

Until then, happy Saturday!

It felt pretty good to just do things that I wanted to do... I need to focus on myself a little more sometimes.

So it's been a while then! LOL I'm facebook friends with quite a few of my coworkers and they all had different suggestions on things I could do when I was there, it was great. BTW, I have also not seen the Bay City Rollers. LOL

It sounds like you had a lovely adventure and was just what the doctor ordered
It was good to get out and do something, even if I was adventuring solo. Very relaxing...

I did enjoy it. Did some shopping, swam in the hotel pool, worked out in the hotel gym, seen some sights and walked the pier.... I finally mastered that can faucet in my sink! Lol

You should take a trip to Midland and see Dow Gardens ... maybe in May when things are blooming. It's well worth the time.
Ooh! Now that sounds interesting! Thank you for the tip!

Yes, it looks like there is. Granny has posted a link to some of the details for the next festival.

Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

The rip downstate, did you drop your daughter off at her friend's place?
The other mom actually drove up north an hour and a half to meet up with us, we met half way. But, yes, she's at the BFF's house now, having fun and sending me random texts.

Oh, a musical festival! That sounds like fun! Damn COVID... You know they likely won't be having one this year because of it. I'll have to put it on my bucket list to attend.

Adventures in strange towns are always fun. Don't get lost... or should I say — 'get lost'. It's more fun that way. ❗❗😎
I don't like to feel lost... It affects my anxiety. I did have lots of input on stuff to see and experience, though, which was nice! I just had to GPS it and away I went!
