....the teacher uses big big words....
...only know by all the nerds....
....of which I think I am but one....
...but as she asks, where is the sun...

...a wish a wish, despair remiss....
....fall right in the deep abyss...
...but then one day you get a peek..
...at something hot that which you seek...

...the heat comes up...
...heads nod say yup...
...you grab some fruit...
...and don't forget, your bathing suit....

....carpe diem..... PS... cheap flights to Florida looking better about now?

Everyone is searching for something.
I'm looking for a place that can make a decent cup of dark roast coffee FFS! 😶

As is your wont, you have brought us a lot to unpack.

For a year now, the Pandemic has churned mirthlessly along its path of destruction. Sickness, death and our democracy's structural weaknesses have become banal. With Spring almost eight weeks away, the landscape is (for many of us) dreary and bleak.

However, with new and vigorous leadership in our executive and legislative branches, I see much reason for optimism. There is increasing possibility that we can achieve herd immunity this summer and all get back together.

To that effect, I encourage meditation upon one of Albert Camus's verses:

In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me, there lay, an invincible summer. And, that makes me happy.
For it says, that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger.

As to your inclination to seek *turpitude*- I encourage embracing temptation and excess in good times and bad. But that's just me.

Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage

Winter time used to be a time I dreaded when I lived in Michigan. Grey skies, with no sound outside in the cold and snow and bitter cold. It is worse during a pandemic.

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Stay strong, safe and don't take crap from anyone or anything
